About Soundwick

Four residents, one studio, and a simple rule: never play a record we wouldn't stay up all night to hear again.

Our story

Soundwick started in 2019 as a back-to-back habit between two record-shop regulars on the Wick. The sets got longer, the room got fuller, and by the second summer we were a collective: four residents, our own edits, and a night that outgrew every venue that would have us.

Today we play clubs and festivals across the UK and Ireland, release our own records on Soundwick Sound, and still run the free-entry Opening Night where it all began.

The residents

Four selectors, one shared record bag

Portrait of resident DJ Marco

Marco

Peak-time · Founder

The closer. Marco plays the last two hours the way other people land planes — deep crates, dubwise pressure and drops timed to the second.

Portrait of resident DJ Joss

Joss

Warm-up · Edits

The opener. Joss builds rooms from empty floors — percussive, soulful, patient — and cuts most of the collective's re-edits.

Portrait of resident DJ Dev

Dev

Afterhours · Production

The studio head. Dev produces the EPs, runs the Soundwick Sound label, and plays the basement sets people talk about for months.

The studio

Every Soundwick record is written, mixed and road-tested from our Hackney Wick studio — a treated room full of borrowed synths, two battered 1210s and a wall of records we still argue about.

Demos from local producers get a listen every Friday. If it's good enough for our USBs, it's good enough for Soundwick Sound.

  • Written for the booth — every track is played out for weeks before release.
  • Independent label — Soundwick Sound releases the collective plus guests.
  • Open demo Fridays — local producers, one listen, honest feedback.

Come hear what we mean

Words only go so far — the records are in the shop and the booth is where we prove it.
